Healing tents can be many things, but ours is specifically designed around Women and the idea of creating a community of support that we need to live our best lives holistically.
This group is NOT therapy, it is community. We are here to emotionally support one another if moments arise during our circles, but it important to know where you are and claim self-responsibility. That is the first step in claiming your power as a woman.
The Healing Tent is a safe space for woman to come together and support other woman.
1. Because confidentiality is essential, we expect that each person will respect and maintain
the confidentiality of the group. What is said in the group is not to be repeated or
discussed at any other time or place.
2. We are here to share our own feelings and experiences; we try not to give advice.
3. We each share the responsibility for making this group work.
4. We try to accept people, just as they are, and we avoid making judgments.
5. We try to give everyone an opportunity to share.
6. We have the right to speak and the right to remain silent.
7. We give supportive attention to the person who is speaking and avoid side
conversations.
8. We avoid interrupting. If we do break in, we return the conversation to the person
who was speaking.
9. We have the right to ask questions and the right to refuse to answer.
10. We try to be aware of our own feelings and talk about what is present to us now,
rather than what life was like for us in the past.
11. We do not discuss group members who are not present.
12. We begin and end our meetings on time.
13. We have a "Once I know better, I will do better" attitude.
-Each healing tent will start with a check in question.
-Following the check in, we will participate in a 10 minute guided meditation.
-A journal prompt will be presented, and 15 minutes will be allotted for us to journal collectively, but without discussion. Soft music will be playing.
-After the journaling, the floor will be open for reflection and support based on the journal prompt.
-If no other activities are planned for the night, breakout rooms will be created for further conversation and support.
-The night will conclude with us all coming back together in a positive healing circle.
These groups will primarily be held virtually. With that said it is a closed space, and we ask that you make sure you are in a place of privacy. For the security of the group, you are asked to keep your camera on during the call.
Muted microphones unless its your turn to speak.
This is YOUR TIME. Create a safe, comfortable space for you to enter the group. Soft lighting, comfy pillows and blankets, all these things are important for YOU to make the most of this special time.
There is going to be a journal prompt weekly. I encourage you to come with a pen and paper journal. To have something physical dedicated to release these thoughts and feelings is important. If digital documentation is more your style, create a folder on your notes app on your phone or prepare a digital file on your computer for these exercises.
